Museums of Singapore

The Peranakan Museum: The museums concentrating on distinct ethnic group of southeastern part of Asia. The name itself signifies its functionality, the word Peranakan means local born. These groups also include off springs of Indian merchant and local women held back in 15th century. The marriage between cultures led to formation of new culture. This culture is shown in Peranakan museum.

Singapore Art Museum: Acronym of SAM Singapore Art Museum is a house of 7,000 artwork from South East Asia. The collection includes visual arts including painting, sculptures, drawings and photographs. In nutshell SAM is a combination of modern and contemporary art.

National Museum of Singapore: As the name suggest, it is one of the most popular museum of Singapore and is caretaker of 11 national treasures. It has testament and Last will of Munsi Abdullah, stage of 1930’s puppet theater, and some world class water color paintings. Old films, cuisine and photography are some other attractions of the museum.
